Thank you for registering for an online class through the Gwinnett Online Campus (GOC) 2012 Summer School Session.
Important Information:
Pacing
Summer classes at GOC operate at an accelerated pace on a five-week schedule. Plan to spend 4-5 hours per course per day Monday – Thursday to successfully meet course requirements. Courses can be accessed on Fridays and weekends as well.
Communication
Teachers will place welcome phone calls to students between June 6 – June 11. All GOC students are issued a @gwinnettonlinecampus.com email address. All email correspondence from GOC will be sent to this address. Personal email addresses will not be used. Students are expected to check their email daily for important information. Students will be able to access your @gwinnettonlinecampus.com email address beginning on Friday, June 8th. To access this information, click here.
Course Login
Students will access their online course through the “Logins” box on our website www.gwinnettonlinecampus.com/logins in the Desire2Learn login area. Students will use their GCPS student ID number for both their username and password. Once logged in, students will see their online course and will click on the course title to enter the summer homeroom. Once the specific online course is accessed, important information is delivered via the different widgets on the Course Home area and modules. Please pay particular attention to the schedule of CLASS sessions for your specific course. After reading through this important information, the course content can be found by clicking on the “Content” link on the Course Home page.
Special Requirements
A few GOC classes require material pickup. Check to see if you need to pick up materials for your course by clicking here. If so, material pickup dates are June 5 and June 6, anytime between 3 and 6 p.m. at GOC, 2595 Beaver Ruin Road, Bldg. F, Norcross, 30071. Some online courses require face-to-face meetings during the mini-semester such as fitness testing, science labs, and testing. Please click here to access the dates for these requirements.
